Take a photo against a window or a white light.

Open the picture in photoshop.

Crop the picture.

Invert the image with cmnd or ctrl + i

In the adjustments panel create a new levels adjustment layer and mess with the RGB levels individually until you’re satisfied, then just a little as a whole.

Then you’re done! What your photolabs charge you to do you can do on your own! If you can’t develop your own film ask them to just develop the film without cutting it! It will save you money every time you get film developed! (It might take more work to get your pictures, but why pay someone to do something you’re capable of doing yourself?)
